SC - Pre-IPO Investment Scams

On 4 July 2024, the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) issued a media release advising the public to be cautious of investment scams enticing investors with pre-Initial Public Offering (IPO) shares of companies seeking for listing on Bursa Malaysia Berhad (Bursa Malaysia).

These scams, which mostly involve private placement offerings, are typically timed with the upcoming IPO listings published on Bursa Malaysia’s website.

The public is encouraged to verify the investment offers through the SC Investment Checker at www.sc.com.my/investment-checker.
