SSM – Revised Guidelines on Company Names and Notice on PD9/2024

Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) issued the following:

1.	Revised Guidelines on Company Names
On 24 June 2024, SSM issued the revised Guidelines on Company Names (Guidelines) which superseded the Guidelines issued on 6 December 2022. Please click on the following for further details: Guidelines on Company Names Comparative Summary
2.	Notice on PD9/2024
On 26 June 2024, SSM issued a Notice stating that the Companies (Amendment) Act 2024 [A1701] especially the legal provisions related to beneficial ownership, namely Chapter 8A and Section 2 had been enforced on 1 April 2024. SSM had also issued the "Guidelines for the Reporting Framework for Beneficial Ownership of Companies" and "Case Studies and Illustrations of the Guidelines for the Reporting Framework for Beneficial Ownership of Companies" for the purpose of assisting the stakeholders, especially companies and company secretaries in complying with the legal requirements relating to beneficial ownership.
