SSM – Extension of Time for Lodgement of BO Information vide e-Bos
On 26 June 2024, Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) issued a revised Practice Directive No. 9/2024 (PD9/2024) which superseded PD No. 9/2024 and revised PD No. 9/2024 issued on 13 May 2024 and 27 May 2024, respectively.
The revised PD No. 9/2024 issued on 26 June 2024 relating to the extension of time from 30 June 2024 to 30 September 2024 for the lodgement of beneficial ownership (BO) information with the Registrar.
Companies which had lodged the BO information and have the need to rectify any particular of the beneficial ownership information previously lodged with the Registrar may do so through the e-BOS without any rectification fee being imposed and no late lodgement will be imposed.
Overall, companies are given six (6) months’ time frame from 1 April to 30 September 2024 to lodge the BO information with the Registrar.
The Institute strongly encourages its members to promptly lodge BO information for companies that are not affected by system limitations to increase the compliance rate of BO lodgement. Members are also encouraged to monitor the ongoing improvements to the e-BOS system and to provide feedback to the Institute at technical@maicsa.org.my if they encounter any challenges. This feedback will help in making effective and informed decisions.
