SSM - Code of Ethics for Company Director & Company Secretary

Further to our announcement released on 27 March 2023, relating to the proposed update on the Company Director and Company Secretary Code of Ethics, Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) had on 11 September 2023 published the revised Code Of Ethics For Company Director & Company Secretary to enhance the standard of corporate governance and corporate behaviour with a view to achieving the following intended objectives:

• To establish standards of ethical conduct for company directors based on acceptable belief and values one upholds;
• To uphold the spirit of accountability and transparency in line with the legislations, regulations and guidelines governing a company; and
• To promote the sustainability of a company by pursuing “Environmental, Social, and Governance” (ESG) strategies in its business.

The revised Code of Ethics supersedes the old Code of Ethics released under the old Companies Act 1965.
