Recognition as a Prescribed Body

The Institute has prescribed as a recognition body under Section 139A(a) of the Companies (Amendment) (No:2) Act 1992, with effect from September 1992. This means that Fellow and Associate members of MAICSA will automatically qualify to act as company secretaries without having to apply for a licence from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM)

Recognition by the Inland Revenue Board

Members of the Institute with more than five years practical tax experience, either in the Government or private sector, are eligible to apply to become tax agents under Section 153(3) of Income Tax Act 1967.

Recognition by MESDAQ

Holders of ICSA qualification, with at least three years working experience in the securities industry, have been accorded recognition as Compliance Officer under BR 508(2)(c) of the Malaysian Exchange of Securities Dealings and Automation Bhd (MESDAQ) Business Rules.

Recognition by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia

In Malaysia, the FCIS and ACIS qualifications are recognised by the Government as equivalent to an Honours Degree from the local universities and the Grad ICSA is recognised as equivalent to a General Degree.

Recognition for Admission to the Post Graduate Programmes

The ICSA qualification is also recognised for admission to post graduate programmes in local and overseas institutions of higher learning.
