| Recognition as a Prescribed Body |
|
In September 1992, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs
recognised the Institute as one of the prescribed body in Malaysia for Company
Secretaries to be registered as members to fulfill their qualification under
Section 139A of the Companies Act 1965.
With the relevant years of experience, the Members of the Institute have the
privilege to practice as a Company Secretary immediately without applying for a
license as they are not required by the Registrar of Companies (ROC). |

| Recognition by the Inland Revenue Board |
|
|
| Members of the Institute with more than five years practical tax
experience, either in the Government or private sector, are eligible to apply
to become tax agents under Section 153(3) of Income Tax Act 1967. |

| Recognition by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia |
|
| In Malaysia, the FCIS and ACIS qualifications are recognised by the Government
as equivalent to an Honours Degree whereas the Grad ICSA qualification is
recognised as equivalent to a General Degree. |

| Recognition for Admission to the Post Graduate Programmes |
|
| The ICSA qualification is recognised for admission into post-graduate programmes
offered by the Institutes of Higher Learning, locally and world wide. |
