Revised CPD Hours Requirements
In order to facilitate members in achieving the required CPD Hours during this Covid-19 pandemic, the MAICSA Council has agreed that the requirement of the Mandatory CPD Guidelines for the CPD Year 2021, be revised as follows:
i. |
For members who are in CSP but are not SSM Practicing Certificate (SSM PC) Holders: |

a) |
A reduction of 50% in their Mandatory CPD Hours (i.e. from 20 to 10 CPD Hours). |

b) |
For the 10 CPD Hours allowed to be claimed for attendance at webinars with a minimum of 8 CPD Hours to be obtained from attending MAICSA organised webinars and the balance 2 CPD Hours from attending webinars organised by the Institute or by the Institute jointly with other professional bodies or by other recognized organisations including regulators, other professional bodies and HRDF training providers. |

ii. |
For members who are not in CSP, a complete waiver of their Mandatory CPD Hours. |

iii. |
Recognition of 20 CPD Hours for online training for SSM PC Holders with a minimum of 12 CPD Hours from attending MAICSA organised webinars and the balance 8 CPD Hours from attending webinars organised by the Institute or by the Institute jointly with other professional bodies or by other recognised organisations, including regulators, other professional bodies and HRDF training providers. |
Carry forward of CPD Hours
Members are allowed to carry forward any excess of CPD Hours, from 2020 to 2021, instead of only the 5 CPD Hours that was allowed to be carried forward previously.
CPD Audit 2020
In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, CPD audit for the year 2020 will not be conducted.
Please note that the MAICSA Mandatory CPD Hours is based on calendar year and members are requested to check with the SSM CPE Guidelines to comply with Section 241 of the Companies Act 2016.
