The Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and
Administrators (MAICSA) is providing its members an insurance coverage against
accidental death and permanent disablement. “This is another significant
investment move for the Institute in acquiring the Group Personal Accident
Policy coverage for the benefit of our Fellows and Associate members,” said
MAICSA president,
Akbar Moidunny.
A signing ceremony was held between MAICSA and MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd on
30 June 2008 at Bangunan MAICSA in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur. Akbar signed
on behalf of MAICSA while MSIG Insurance was represented by its KL agency
manager, Shirly Yip. In his speech, Akbar said that the insurance coverage was
part of the Institute’s corporate responsibility for its members which was an
additional benefit for them.
“Our Fellow members are now covered by a policy of RM100,000
while Associate members are covered with a RM50,000 policy,” added Akbar. “This
is also one way to thank our members for their support of the Institute for the
past 49 years.”
The insurance policy which commenced on 1 July 2008 includes medical expenses
of RM3,500 for Fellows and RM1,500 for Associates.
Also present at the signing ceremony were MAICSA vice president
