Chinese New Year open house for orphans and members

65 orphans from Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih, Puchong and Rumah
Kanak – Kanak Angels, Kuala Lumpur were hosted to an afternoon of good food and
classical music entertainment at The Malaysian Institute of Chartered
Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) Chinese New Year open house.
The event was held at Bangunan MAICSA in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur on 27
February 2008 from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm. More than 100 invited guests, members,
graduates, students and affiliates of MAICSA also attended the open house. On
hand to welcome them were the Institute’s Council members and Secretariat
staff.
The host took the opportunity to mingle with the children before “ang pows”
were given to them by MAICSA president Akbar
Moidunny, deputy president
Zainal Abidin Pit and vice president
Janet Ang Siew Cheng. MAICSA Council and invited guests then had a “loh
sang” session by tossing “yee sang” for prosperity and good fortune.
Among those present were Companies
Commission of Malaysia’s deputy CEO (operations) Khoo Beng Chit, its
director of Training Academy Nor Azimah Abdul Aziz, Minority Shareholders
Watchdog Group’s CEO Abdul Wahab Jaafar Sidek, CPA Australia’s executive
director Audrey Danasamy and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants’
divisional director Sopiah Suid.
As a token of appreciation, mandarin oranges and chocolates were then
distributed to all guests upon their departure.
