The Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) president Akbar Moidunny lauded the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) efforts in moving towards a more business-friendly environment with the launch of e-lodgement services for company and business related services today, at the Sime Darby Convention Centre. “E-Lodgement is a facility offered by CCM to enable the lodgement of company and business statutory documents electronically. Not only the business community and potential investors will gain with faster access and update of corporate information, company secretaries being the backbone of business and regulators will benefit tremendously by using these services,” said Akbar.

He added that it was about time company secretaries embrace ICT to improve their work culture. “Company secretaries work in a very fast paced environment whereby they have to constantly meet the company’s or regulators’ deadlines. Therefore by using e-lodgement services, company secretaries’ will save time and cost of doing business. Better still, no more long queues! Prescribed Forms can be filed on line from the comfort of your own office. With this e-lodgement, there should be close to no documents misplaced and lesser fines for late filing, certainly a sigh of relief to many company secretaries.”

Akbar was confident that many company secretaries would use the e-Lodgement service in order to stay competitive. After all its only RM 120.00 annually for company related services and RM5.00 annually for business related services. This amount is considered low with the savings in manhours waiting in queue, fuel, parking, etc.
