The race organised by the Young Pharmacists Society (“YPS”) was held at two
places, i.e. Summit, USJ and Subang Parade. There were 24 teams that were
divided into 12 teams each, with the first twelve starting off at the Summit
and the remaining 12 at Subang Parade. Fortunately for us, we were not made to
walk from Summit, USJ to Subang Parade. The 12 that had to race at Subang
Parade, were given 30 minutes to drive there.
The rules of the game were simple. Each
team had only 15 minutes to complete its task at each station. If the team
could not complete the task within 15 minutes, the team would have to move to
the next station with an additional 5 minutes penalty. There were 12 stations
in total and the race began at 10.30 a.m. and finished at 3.00 p.m. sharp.
Punctuality was strictly observed! There were 90 questions for each team to
answer and every right answer reduces the team’s finishing time by 20 seconds.
The 12 stations that we stopped at dealt with different health issues such as
stress management, body fitness, etc. Who would have thought that washing your
hands could be a 12-step procedure! Every task that we performed was
interesting and exciting. Even I almost lost my sense of smell, trying to sniff
out which liquid soap was used for the various activities performed in the
pictures.

| Abi asking for clue... |
Honestly, YPS achieved what they set out to do - “Living Healthy can be a lot
of Fun!” I learnt a lot of things that I would otherwise have taken for
granted. Everyday habits that we think are simple but are actually complicated.
Habits that not only affect us but also the people around us. That day reminded
me of an old cliché - “Stay Healthy, Wealthy & Wise!” As I reiterate,
SIMPLE BUT COMPLICATED!
