ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Graphic Designer at MAICSA, you will be a full-time, in-person, on-site team member responsible for creating visually compelling and engaging designs across MAICSA’s marketing collaterals, digital platforms, and events. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of creative projects while playing a key role in translating MAICSA’s vision and objectives into impactful visual communications. You will also ensure consistent and effective representation of the MAICSA brand across all touchpoints.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design high-quality and visually compelling graphics for a wide range of materials, including reports, event invitations, save-the-dates, signage, banners, brochures, programmes, and on-site branding, in line with MAICSA’s brand guidelines and visual identity.
- Develop marketing and promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, social media content, website banners, email templates, and other digital assets using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva.
- Create, edit, and produce engaging video and motion content for marketing and events, including social media videos (YouTube and Instagram Reels), conference promotions, animated explainers, and testimonial videos.
- Support and enhance branding for MAICSA’s flagship initiatives and events, including the Annual Conference, Awards Night, Governance Talks, forums, and other key programmes.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and event planners to translate project requirements into effective visual and multimedia solutions.
- Manage multiple design and video projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high quality standards.
- Prepare and present creative concepts, layouts, and proposals to internal stakeholders and, where applicable, external partners.
- Oversee print production, liaise with vendors, and conduct quality checks, demonstrating a sound understanding of printing processes and specifications.
- Maintain a well-organised and up-to-date library of design, video, and brand assets.
- Stay informed on emerging design and video trends, tools, and best practices, and contribute creative ideas during brainstorming sessions for campaigns, events, and visual concepts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably within the Education, Events, Communications, or marketing industry.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); experience with Canva and video editing tools is also required.
- Strong understanding of design principles, including typography, colour theory, layout, and visual hierarchy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a variety of design work, including event-related and digital materials.
- Experience with print production and vendor coordination is an advantage.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
